Wizbit is a research and development project, the main aim of this project is to identify a method of retaining full historical data pertaining to every file, or other data object like a contact, or calendar entry. What makes Wizbit different from other file systems which record historical revisions of files like ZFS from Sun Microsystems is that Wizbit is a distributed system, allowing for a full historical copy to exist in multiple places. This makes wizbit something like a git file system and originally it was considered that the architecture of wizbit would be based on git. However, during our research the architecture of wizbit had to change in order to fit inline with what we were really trying to achieve.
